I think I now have a much better understanding of what graphic design is, and what graphic designers do. I also feel I have been noticing design around me more, such as clothes labels and street signs, things I wouldn't really have thought about before as being design.
Overall I have enjoyed my week in graphic design, but struggled a lot with the computer based parts. I have been inspired by the hand-rendered typography, because I had always thought of graphic design being on a computer and very exact, but it is a lot freer than I thought it would be. I also like the illustrative nature of some of the graphic design I have looked at, and the use of bold colours to make very striking works.
